1. Overview and Our Privacy Commitment

Imageconvertix ("we", "us", or "our") is a browser-based file compression and conversion platform available at imageconvertix.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy through a simple architectural principle: your files never leave your device.

Unlike traditional online file tools that upload your documents, photos, and data to remote servers for processing, Imageconvertix performs all computation locally using browser-native technologies including the File API, Canvas API, WebAssembly, Web Workers, and WebCodecs. The result is a service that is private by design, not just by policy.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect about website visitors (such as analytics data), what we do not collect (your files), and how we handle any data that is transmitted to our servers (primarily standard web server logs).

2. How We Process Your Files

When you use Imageconvertix to compress, convert, or process files:

• Your file is read into your browser's memory using the standard HTML5 File API when you select or drop it onto the tool.
• All processing (compression, format conversion, quality adjustment) happens using JavaScript and WebAssembly running in your browser tab.
• The processed output is written to a temporary Blob URL stored in your browser's memory.
• When you download the result, your browser saves the file directly from memory to your device's storage.
• When you close the tab or navigate away, all temporary data is cleared from browser memory.

At no point during this process is your file data transmitted to Imageconvertix servers, third-party servers, or any external endpoint. We do not have file upload infrastructure. Our web server only serves the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files that make up the tool. It never receives your documents or images.

3. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information as standard web server practice:

Server logs: When your browser requests the Imageconvertix website, our web server automatically logs standard information including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This is standard practice for all websites. These logs are used for security monitoring, abuse prevention, and understanding general traffic patterns. Logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and then deleted.

We do not collect:

• Any files you process through Imageconvertix tools
• File names, sizes, or contents
• The text of documents you convert
• Any images, photos, or graphics you compress or convert
• Personal identification information (name, email, phone) unless you voluntarily contact us
• Payment information of any kind (Imageconvertix is free)

4. Cookies and Local Storage

Imageconvertix uses minimal cookies and browser storage:

• Preference storage: We may store your quality settings or selected format preferences in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is used only to restore your settings on your next visit.
• No tracking cookies: We do not set advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or any cookies that share your browsing behavior with third parties.
• Analytics cookies: If we use an analytics service, only anonymized session data is collected. See Section 5 for details.

You can delete all Imageconvertix stored data at any time by clearing your browser's cookies and site data for imageconvertix.com. This will only affect your saved preferences and will not impact your ability to use any tools.

5. Analytics and Usage Data

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which tools are most useful and how visitors navigate the site. Any analytics solution we use is configured to:

• Anonymize IP addresses before storage
• Not share data with advertising networks
• Not track users across other websites
• Comply with GDPR and similar privacy regulations

Aggregate analytics data (such as "1,000 people used the image compressor today") helps us improve the tool but contains no information about individual users or their files.

6. Third-Party Services

Imageconvertix loads the following third-party resources:

• Google Fonts: Typography fonts (Inter, Space Grotesk) are loaded from Google Fonts CDN. Google may log the request to their CDN servers as is standard for any CDN service. You can review Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
• No advertising networks: We do not load Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising or retargeting scripts.
• No social media trackers: We do not load social media tracking scripts from Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, or similar platforms.

7. GDPR and Your Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent laws:

• Right of access: You may request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification: You may request correction of any inaccurate personal data.
• Right to erasure: You may request deletion of your personal data (primarily server logs).
• Right to data portability: You may request your data in a portable format.
• Right to object: You may object to our processing of your personal data.

The legal basis for processing server log data is our legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable web service. Log data is necessary to detect and prevent abuse, investigate security incidents, and ensure service availability.

8. Children's Privacy

Imageconvertix does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Our tools are general-purpose utilities suitable for all ages. We do not require age verification because we do not collect personal information during normal tool use. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Imageconvertix after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
